Advancing Racial Equity in Our Communities: Fair Housing and Land Use

Join the Urban Institute for a conversation about how land-use policy plays an important role in influencing access to opportunity for people of color throughout the United States. In this virtual event, they will explore how local land-use policies—particularly in the form of exclusionary zoning—inhibit millions of Black and Brown Americans’ abilities to secure stable, affordable housing and leverage housing mobility options. They will discuss what solutions could help largely Black and Brown communities thrive economically and sustainably in the context of decentralized governance, NIMBYism, racism, and inadequate public resources.
