NeighborWorks Healthy Communities Webinar

A new monthly series from NeighborWorks America addresses the question: Can housing and community development really improve health outcomes? This installment highlights promising practices to build healthy communities through new partnerships between the community development, public health, and health care sectors.

Speakers:

• Ruth Lindberg of the Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, will introduce health impact assessments as a useful tool to guide decision-making.
• Julie Trocchio of the Catholic Health Association will explain how community benefits can support partnerships with nonprofit hospitals.
• Merten Bangemann-Johnson of NeighborWorks Umpqua will share his organization's experience with practical, evidence-based strategies to improve residents' health in rural Southwest Oregon.
• Chris Krehmeyer of Beyond Housing will offer practical, evidence-based strategies from his organization's work in the St. Louis area.
