Rethinking the Future: The Opportunities of Longevity

Washington, DC
Hosted By:
Urban Institute

The Urban Institute, in collaboration with the Stanford Center on Longevity, will host a discussion on the challenges and opportunities for living well while living longer. Issues and policy initiatives will span the generations from millennials to baby boomers.

A series of panel discussions will consider the potential for policy action and new research in three areas:

  • Living Long, Living Well: Prospects for successful longevity and how they vary by income, race, and ethnicity;
  • Rethinking the Future: Opportunities for assuring well-being across the life span;  and
  • Policy Initiatives: Promising policy interventions to promote financial security by facilitating work in retirement, supporting caregivers, adapting to the changing future of work, and other actions.
